(Un)wrapped — Brussels design at Milan Design Week 2025
Brussels House, Via Gaetano de Castilla 23 · 7 – 13 April 2025
MAD Brussels, Belgium is Design and hub.brussels joined forces once again to spotlight home‑grown talent at Brussels House. Their exhibition (Un)wrapped invited visitors to discover how materials and objects can shape not only spaces but also human experiences. Ten Brussels designers—working with everything from hand‑crafted raw matter to repurposed and recycled elements—embraced an approach that balances innovation with tradition and functionality with emotion.
Conceived as a street‑facing window display, the scenography played with the act of unveiling: a soft drapery framed each piece, floating lights amplified the sense of lightness, and honest materials such as wood, stone and ceramics underscored authenticity and sustainability. At its heart stood a commitment to design that serves both people and planet—reconnecting us with nature, rethinking waste as a resource, and proving that objects can be meaningful, adaptable and rooted in responsibility.
A special focal point sat outside on the pavement: Inner Design’s “Shanti” meditation chair. Placed in front of Brussels House, the chair became an immediate eye‑catcher, sparking curiosity among passers‑by and ushering a steady stream of newcomers into the exhibition.
Grazie to everyone who passed by, to those who spotted the Shanti chair outside Brussels House, and to all of you who sparked inspiring conversations and beautiful moments.
